Finding Your Way Back to You: Tips to Simplify Your Life

WORK, SCHOOL, BILLS, WORK, SCHOOL, BILLS - Ever feel like life has become one big TASK? You ever feel like somehow your own wants and dreams have become lost in the shuffle of "what must be done?" Has life become so hectic you don't even have time to sit still and keep your thoughts straight? Kind of makes you think, "If life is this hectic BEFORE the baby arrives, how on EARTH am I going to handle things once I HAVE the baby????" Hmmmm...ok, sounds like it is time to take a step back and figure out how you can SIMPLIFY.

"Take what you can use and let the rest go by." ~ Ken Kesey

Ok, I know it seems like everything on your itinerary is urgent and I know it seems like everyone needs you to do everything or the Earth will stop spinning, but I promise you there is room to schedule a little "me time" into your busy life: the trick is to find it ;) And to find it, you must be willing to live by the credo: Don't sweat the small stuff. Prioritize everything in your life and decide what is actually necessary and what is just excess "stuff" to worry about. (Do you REALLY need to get an entire nursery room prepared even though you are tired and don't have much help? There are plenty of babies who have come home to a basinett in the corner of mommy & daddy's room and they turned out just fine!). Take a good long look at your to-do list and I'm willing to bet that more than half of that stuff can be delegated or dismissed.

There are tons of things you can do (or not do) to simplify your life. Check out this site for more ideas on how to get started. Trust me: your baby will thank you, later ;)
